Hi, I'm Your Local School Administrator, and I'm a Buffoon

This is something you hear about a lot, but usually not from someone in your own community - it always seems to happen "over there". The following was forwarded to me, written by a local school teacher:
Maybe one of the Bloggers can tackle this stupid Happy Holidays stuff that is going on right now. Everything is "holiday this and holiday that." Our third and fourth grade concert today was all in praise of winter. There was a giant snowman displayed in the front of the performance area and the kids sang song after nauseating song about winter and snowflakes and snowmen (my mom made the comment the other day that snowmen seem to have taken over every Christmas decoration..."they are the new gods of the season," she commented wryly). Some of the songs which were originally Christmas melodies such as the popular "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and "Deck the Halls" were turned into generic, areligious ditties like, "We wish you a happy winter, we wish you a happy winter, we wish you a happy winter, and an early spring." and "Winter is a time for freezing, fa la la la la la la la la..."

The icing on the cake was when the children sang a song with lyrics that gave a nod to the fact that many people decorate their homes this time of year and why was that? Because the season was about love, joy, children, and peace. (Not about JESUS! Oh No!) The only time I hear His name spoken around here is in the form of a cuss word on the playground.

I wouldn't mind if the kids put on a show with a variety of holiday songs...even from different cultures and faiths. Heck, bring out the Hannukah songs, sing a few Kwaanza songs, too. That would actually be interesting and enriching. But to sterilize this season to the point where all we can sing about is some blasted snow is sickening.
If that isn't the most absurd thing you've ever heard! Obviously, these school administrators are wholly incapable of feeling embarrassment. As if stripping the "offending" language from Christmas songs and replacing it with nonsensical blather does anything more than highlight their complete stupidity.

I'm sure you could get the "End of the World" from Garage Logic if you forward it to Soucheray.

"Sterilize" the season is apparently what a minority of citizens want. I view it as product of the increasingly godless left. Yet I see a little hope. More people are protesting taking Christ and God out of the public square. Christians are a great majority in this country and maybe they've awakened.
