DFL Caucus Results

Via the cleverly named blog of the Minnesota DFL party, DFLers.org, come the results of straw polling done at last night's DFL caucus meetings:

Few surprises here, although the strong showing by Steve Kelley in the Governor's contest suggests that Mike Hatch still has some work to do. Frankly, my gut tells me to root for Becky Lourey in that contest. She was on the Patriot Insider with Captain Fishsticks last Saturday and proved herself to be an energetic advocate for far-left ideas. She wouldn't stand a chance and it would be a joy to see the anti-war flakes go down in flames with her campaign.

On the other hand, I'd like to see the GOP have to fight to keep the Governor's mansion - the further left the DFL goes, the greater the temptation to blow off conservative members of the party and to float lame ideas like the the "70% solution" on education. Easy political lifting can lead to "flabby" policies.
