How to Write Your Senator or Representative

E-mails to legislators don't have to be long. Short and to the point is adequate when the legislator does not need a lot of background. Someone in the office will tabulate responses and send a standard reply no doubt. What is important is that you get your ideas and position on an issue to the legislator. If you don't, maybe only the other side will be heard. Get to the point, but as always don't be rude or profane.

Each Senator or Representative has an official website with a provision to contact by e-mail.

Here is an example of a short message to a Senator:

Subject: Immigration

Enforcement. Enforcement. Enforcement. No amnesty of any kind. No loopholes to weaken local enforcement. Fund the fence. The people demand these things.
