Under the RADAR New Brighton Budget Meeting Tonight

There will be a New Brighton Budget work session in the council chambers today (August 7) at the oh-so-convenient-for-the-public-who-go-to-work-to-pay-confiscatory-levels-of-taxes time of 4:30 PM. This extremely under-publicized event is open to the public who find out about it.

Council members Doffing and Bauman face an uphill battle representing the taxpayers and property owners of the city as the three big-government, big-spending liberals on the council (Burg and Hoffman, along with Mayor Larson) are a 3-2 majority (at least until the next election). Most egregious actions that have come out of the council were the result of 3-2 votes.

In terms of Budgetball, it would be nice for the taxpayers to throw a curve ball to the council with an unexpected large turnout to let the big spenders know that they can no longer get away with unrestrained spending without ramifications in the next election. Please pass the word to make it happen.
