One Myth Down

There are many myths in politics such as which is the "party of the working man", which is the "party of the rich", which is the "party of big corporation", and which is the "party of civil rights". In time, I hope we can dispense with these and more. So let's start now.

Contrary to popular belief, poor turnout does NOT benefit Republicans. The turnout in Minnesota and in my House District was down over four years ago. There were 90,000 fewer votes statewide, yet Republicans lost many races including many that were considered "safe".

Further, nice weather does not equate to a higher voter turnout. The sun was out in Minnesota with temps in the 50's and 60's. (Sometimes I wish there was some truth to Global Warming.)

Each election has its own dynamics that drives voters to the polls.
