Just Blogging Out Loud

Has anyone else noticed that Democrats who criticize President Bush (43) for invading Baghdad and overthrowing Saddam in 2003 also criticized President Bush (41) for NOT invading Baghdad and overthrowing Saddam in 1991?

These same Democrats claim that there are no terrorists in Iraq. They claim that the fighting in Iraq is a civil war and blame President Bush (43) for not anticipating it. But, these Democrats were not worried that a "civil war" would follow overthrowing Saddam in 1991.

Then again, these same Democrats voted for invading Iraq when it was politically convenient to do so in 2002. They also failed to anticipate that a civil war would follow this invasion.

More importantly, while many Democrats warned that we would lose "tens of thousands" of troops to Saddam's WMD's, none anticipated that Iraq would become the biggest front in the war against Al Qaeda. (Better there than here.)

Actually, the last Democrat who correctly predicted the outcome of a war was President Truman when he dropped the atomic bomb. He may also have been the last Democrat to predict a United States victory. (Excluding Senators Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller.)
