Norm Franken

Senator Coleman voted in favor of cloture on the Webb amendment, an amendment that would have made it, for all practical purposes, impossible to continue our troop deployment in Iraq.

Read about it here.

Hey Joe Repya... you still interested in running for Senate? We need a pro-victory candidate on the GOP side.

Senator Coleman is rapidly securing a reputation as a RINO who cannot be counted on to uphold conservative principles. Just look at the other so-called Republicans (the usual suspects) who voted for this back-door cutoff of support for our troops:

Collins
Hagel
Smith
Snowe
Sununu

This is not good company to be in. Even the highly unreliable Arlen Specter had the rare sense to vote against this bill.

Senator Coleman had better get the conservative religion quickly if he expects to get the monetary and volunteer support he will need to hold his seat.

Shameful and disappointing.

"Cannot be counted on"

Precisely. His votes are cast mainly to improve his electability (or so he believes).

These weak-kneed Republicans provide cover for the surrender caucus. They should be providing rhetorical leadership in support of our effort in Iraq. Instead, they simply lend credibility to the Moveon.com party.
