Arnold Reaches For McCain

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger endorsed McCain today:
...Senator McCain has proven over and over again that he is reaching across the aisle in order to get things done.
Arnold knows about reaching across the aisle. He knows about reaching across, stepping across, and darn right living across the aisle.

Let's be clear here. When a Republican is heralded for "reaching across the aisle", it means that he has compromised his party's principles to help Democrats – and get accolades from the media.

McCain knows about reaching across, stepping across, and darn right living across the aisle. He knows all to well about compromising his party's principles.

It is funny how a Republican's ability to "reach across the aisle" is considered to be an attribute. But, you never hear glowing praise about Democrats who "reach across the aisle".

So McCain has endorsements from the Governator and the New York Times, and in an editorial on foxnews.com Susan Estrich sang his praises as "good for the country." There was a time when a Republican couldn't keep that kind of company during primary season. It might be more accurate to say he's "reaching across the aisle" when he sides with conservatives.

Like Jason Lewis pointed out tonight the conservative base has got to get past the unwritten rule that a war hero or veteran is immune from criticism as long as he has an "R" after his name.

Senator McCain served our country with the utmost honor and bravery, but that alone does not qualify him to be President and should not put him above criticism.

McCain and RINOs like him are a cancer within the GOP. He has been a disaster as a Senator and has always placed self-promotion over the party. The man is as shameless as any Democrat when it comes to self-promotion and political self-preservation.

It's also getting really old when he plays the "war hero" card every time the base or one of his peers calls him on his actions.

Uncle Rush is correct in his assertion that if McCain is the nominee he will destroy the GOP and most likely open the door for a Democrat president.

Make an effort to get to your caucus next Tuesday. The McCainiacs must be stopped!
