Note To DFL Legislators

This is just a note to DFL legislators and any other DFL 'ers who wander this way.

Your attacks on Carol Molnau are really getting old. Most Minnesotans now realize that the old 35W bridge was always unsafe (and we were all darn lucky) and that the new bridge, under Molnau's direction, will be safe.

But the DFL and Steve Murphy having been screeching about the old bridge and Molnau since last summer, setting records for political party negativity. It is downright un-Minnesotan.

By the way, have you noticed how comrade Murphy looks and sounds like a communist apparatchik, circa 1917?

Have any of you read Boris Pasternak's Dr. Zhivago? No? I thought not.

I wonder if anyone will ask Rep. Knuth during the upcoming election about her foolish and intemperate remarks last summer regarding the bridge collapse?

No doubt, the words were put in her mouth by the DFL propaganda shop, but she's ultimately responsible for them.

I am looking forward to the "raise gas tax to build more bridges" debate. In public forums, we need to flood Rep. Knuth with questions about where the money from current gas taxes are going now. Get her, and other DFLers to admit that most of such taxes do NOT go to roadways and bridges.

The next question is to challenge them to put their votes where their mouths are. If they truly believe in using gas taxes to build more bridges, are they willing to pass an amendment that repeals the last one we passed and requires ALL proceeds from motorist taxes to go to roads and bridges.

If they are so concerned about the future of mass transit and finding that balance between toy trains and bridges, are they willing to raise bus and train fares to at least cover the costs of operating them. This would double the fares and highlight that running toy trains has become dependent on motorists buying gasoline.

Finally, now that we have laid the ground work, get them to choke on the question "aren't you exploiting the 35W bridge tragedy just to raise more taxes for your toy trains?"
