Representative Kate Knuth - Maliciously Destructive or Just Plain Stupid?

BOHICA!

Representative Kate Knuth's economically destructive Cap and Trade Bill was unfortunately passed by the House yesterday. This bill, along with the related renewable energy mandates crap passed last year has the potential to put Minnesota at a huge competitive disadvantage with states that don't go along with this nonsense and will drive businesses out of Minnesota in droves while increasing the cost of living for Minnesota residents.

I will post a more thorough look at the potential economic carnage in the near future as the legislation is so incredibly misguided on so many levels it is difficult to determine where to begin to critique it. In the mean time, Leo over at Psycmeister's Ice Palace has posted an excellent big picture overview that puts the destructive nature of this legislation into perspective and gives some insight that highlights the aloof attitude of the clueless twit responsible for it.

Representative Knuth seems like a nice enough person, so I'm leaning toward "just plain stupid" as an explanation for how she could do so much damage and hope to sleep at night. But given the consequences of what will happen to our economy and standard of living if this bravo sierra is allowed to play out, one has to wonder if stupidity alone can explain it.

Knuth is walking evidence that large amounts of education does not unconditionally translate to intelligence. She may not be stupid in terms of academic criteria but she definitely has demonstrated that she lacks the common sense and reasoning ability to see how incompatible her thinking and that of her fellow greenies is with the real world. There's a lot that can be learned holding a real job in the private sector that perpetual graduate students like Knuth have missed out on. She will never grow intellectually beyond the level of DFL party hack.

It is obviously in the best interests of District 50 residents (and those of the entire state for that matter) that Knuth is defeated this fall. Grivna may not be the ideal Reagan conservative we need in the office, but at least she wouldn't actively pursue the legislativly assisted economic suicide policies Knuth champions.

The really unfortunate thing is that even if Knuth gets removed the DFL will probably still maintain the majority which is never in the best interests of anyone but the DFL and big government.

On the other hand, don't be surprised if you learn that Lori Grivna IS the ideal Reagan conservative that we need in the office. (I know, as a member of the Mounds View School Board, Grivna did agree to a tax hike. As President, so did Reagan. In both cases there's more to the story than just the support of raising a tax.)
