Obama - Biden: So bad it will be good!

Barack Hussein Obama continued on his recent trend of bone-headed moves with his naming of Senator Joseph Robinette Biden as his running mate (maybe Biden will also forbid the use of his middle name by the media). If this announcement does not convince Republicans that there is a God, nothing will (except, perhaps, if the Ice Queen manages to steal the nomination at the last minute).

The BHO-JRB team has the potential to be more entertaining to Republicans than many professional comedy teams. Biden, besides being a general all-around putz, is a twice (badly) failed presidential candidate with a smarmy, condescending air about him that I believe will cause those who are not yet familiar with him to quickly build a steadily increasing dislike the more they hear him. The self-admitted plagiarist has a ego larger than the state that elected him to the Senate and, as Rush likes to put it, always views himself as the smartest person in the room. The problem for Biden is that he generally fails to deliver the goods from the perspective of the rest of the room.

In addition to Biden's high self-opinion and shallowness of thought, he is also an arrogant northeastern liberal. Politicians of this ilk often do not play well with those in fly-over country or with the good ol' boys down south. Although it would be a tall order for anyone to provide balance to a ticket with the radical Marxist Barack Hussein Obama at the top, the choice of Biden isn't even a token attempt in the right direction in this respect.

All in all the Republicans could not have hoped for a lamer Democrat ticket. It will be interesting to see if there is a stage large enough to hold both Biden's and Obama's massive egos at the same time. Both are living, breathing gaff machines who individually already provide a copious volume of fodder for conservative commentators (Biden himself has contributed some good "why Obama is not qualified to be President" material). The combined result of the upcoming stupid statements and intellectual vapidity from this ticket may well provide much more political ammo (not to mention sheer entertainment value) for Republicans than the sum of their individual mis-steps.

There's a reason they moved the Leni Riefenstahl acceptance speech to a football stadium, RH. Their heads wouldn't fit inside the door at the Pepsi Center.

Good analysis -- a lame, utterly unimaginative pick.

Pay attention to this! Clarence Thomas wrote his book, My Grandfather's Son, in part because of Joe Biden.

One of the saddest chapters I've read in any book at any time was about Clarence Thomas' confirmation. Joe Biden was inquisitor, torturer, back-stabber, double-crosser without equal.

Thomas is a thoughtful and humble Supreme Court Justice who does not blow his own horn. I'm sure he felt compelled to write the book in part to tell the world about hypocrites like Joe Biden.
