Give Us The Geithner Tax Cut

If Joe The Plumber's $1,200 tax problem was enough to disqualify him from asking then presidential-candidate Obama about his redistribution tax plan, then why doesn't Timothy Geithner's $34,000 tax problem disqualify him from running the IRS?

Geithner failed to pay $34,000 in taxes owed between 2001 and 2004. He was audited and paid some of the back taxes in 2006. But, it wasn't until President-elect Obama tapped him for Treasury Secretary (which oversees the IRS) that he paid balance of his debt.

So, where's the media outrage? Where are the cries of political corruption and double-standards – of the elite protecting the elite while imposing rules for the rest of us?

If Geithner is confirmed, then every American taxpayer should get the same relief from their tax burdens that Geithner enjoyed for the past several years. Ironically, the Geithner Tax Cut would encourage millions to start investing again and Obama could enjoy a speedy recovery from this recession.

It's time for Republicans in the Senate to show some testicular fortitude and rigorously oppose some of the Obama nominees.

Geithner clearly does not have the character or honesty for the position, Hillary Clinton has many conflicts of interest as well as character problems, and Eric Holder has many ethical problems.

At the very least these people should not be given a free pass. If they make it through the process so be it, but Republicans should not be a party to rubber stamping such poor choices for key positions in our government.

Remember that testicular lock box that Uncle Rush has often spoken of? I fear it's full.
