Happy Birthday, Mr. President!

Remember when we had a real president?

After listening to the fear-mongering blather coming from the current occupant of the White House the last couple of weeks it is clear the President Reagan was correct when he stated
Government is not the solution to our problems. Government is the problem.
Unlike Obama, Reagan "got it" with respect to what this country is all about:
This is the issue...whether we believe in our capacity for self government or whether we abandon the American Revolution and confess that a little intellectual elite in a far distant capitol can plan our lives for us better than we can plan them ourselves.
President Reagan, in stark contrast to the current chief executive, had an unshakable faith in God, the American people, the Constitution, and the concept of American Exceptionalism.

Apparently Obama doesn't grasp these basic concepts and, as noted by President Reagan below, is not the first to fail to measure up to the standards of the founding fathers:
For a time we forgot the American Dream isn't one of making government bigger. It's keeping faith with the mighty spirit of free people under God.
If President Obama doesn't get his act together his legacy may well be one of proving that Reagan was right on so many levels. Hopefully it won't cause the ruination of our country in the process.
